A Little Background on Student-Made

Student-Made was started to provide creative college students with a platform to share their talents and small business with their campus community. As Student-Made continues to expand, so has its mission! Today, Student-Made works to build a network of campus creatives by launching at colleges and universities across the country. The Student-Made network is one that aims to inspire, support and engage college students of all kinds in creativity and entrepreneurship.

Meet the Founders!

Lindsay Reeth

Hey there! I’m so happy you’re here!!! Student-Made began from a love and amazement for students making incredible things. My two favorite things are… discovering amazing businesses run by students & working with students to launch and customize Student-Made to their unique campus culture. My dream is for Student-Made to expand to every college across the country, with the focus of building a strong, supportive and authentic community at the forefront. I hope that being a part of Student-Made will give you confidence in your passions, tangible experiences to help you grow, and a community that will last you a lifetime.

Ryan McElhinney

Hello! It’s hard to match the enthusiasm of my partner, Lindsay… but your interest and enthusiasm for Student-Made is our biggest inspiration. We went to school in a small North Carolina town, which grew our love to locally-made products & small businesses— and we find it so inspiring that students are pursuing a passion and even growing a business out of their dorm room. As Student-Made has grown from 1 to 2 to 4 campuses and beyond, Lindsay and I have obsessed over creating the best teams possible & providing the best opportunities to support all of our students better every day.

What is Student-Made?

An Online Shop for Student Creatives

Student-Made is an online shop that is completely customized to your campus, and features student creatives and small business owners of all kinds. The shop is full of products handmade by students on your campus, and specially curated collections to engage customers in the spirit of your campus culture!

A Mini Company Experience for Student Managers

Our favorite part about Student-Made is that it is also completely student-run! Behind the scenes of the online shop is a team of seven student managers who work together to run Student-Made on their campus. When you think of this team, think of a mini start-up company… students coming together from all different majors and skill sets engaging in awesome hands-on experience in all aspects of business management. These seven positions are offered as internships, and you are able to hold your position as long as you wish. Each role comes with training from our founders, alongside managers from our other Student-Made campuses.

Here is an overview of the seven positions available within Student-Made…

Campus Manager: This position is in charge of overseeing the entire Student-Made management team, ensuring everyone is making progress and successful in their roles.

Website Manager: This role is in charge of keeping the online shop up to date with new products, collections, creatives, and special promotions.

Social Media Manager: This position manages the Student-Made Instagram account, and works to create exciting ways to share our mission and promote our brand.

Content Creator: This role is in charge of producing photo and video content of all kinds to promote Student-Made on campus.

Finance & Strategy Manager: This position focuses on the numbers within Student-Made, and creates reports to provide strategy insight on how to improve the success of the shop.

Community Engagement Manager: This role is focused on building a strong community—within our internal community, and our external community of customers.

Events & Partnerships Manager: This position is in charge of creating and managing unique events & partnerships both on and off campus, including pop-ups, collaborative events & more.
