COMMUNITY STORIES: ALEX ASHENDORF

I was drawn to this topic because I have always had a creative side and I wanted to continue growing my skills and interests to eventually turn it into a career.

She has owned her business for over a decade and some of my best memories were helping her with her crafts and attending markets with her as a little girl.

I firmly believe that if I didn’t have that background and support I wouldn’t be as successful as I am now as both a small business owner and as a creative.

I started The Cozy Stitch Crochet without high expectations of its success. Student-Made has definitely grown my confidence that my business is something I can continue doing after graduation.

I expect there to be growing pains and challenges with learning how to have consistent online sales without the Student-Made website, but overall I am optimistic regarding the success of my business after graduation and I expect to continue doing markets and pop-ups around the state.
