PROGRAM HIGHLIGHT: SHARE YOUR UNIQUE STORY THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

Welcome back to my Program Update. I am quite excited about some of our topics today, so let’s jump right in!

I started as a Success Manager with Student-Made in May 2022. I found out about Student-Made back in 2020 when I wrote an article about Ryan and Lindsay for my school newspaper.

At that point, Student-Made was starting to have brand ambassadors. And after asking a million of my editors if it was a conflict of interest, I finally got the OK to become one!

I’d like to think I never ended my role as brand ambassador– because now I tell EVERYONE about Student-Made, no matter the situation.

I was a little lost having just transferred to an art school, living back at home, etc. That’s when Ryan and Lindsay announced they were looking for interns to join Student-Made! It was like a sign.

Student-Made is my full time job and I get to do what I love every single day.

This semester we are really excited to continue our creator and manager features. Every month, we will highlight a wonderful creator and a wonderful manager from the community.

I want to hear from every single one of you.

If you are interested, which you should be, please fill out the interest form– which you can find in the footer of all our newsletters and in your Resource Portal!

When customers purchase something, they learn about who they are buying from. They can hear your story, your purpose, the reason behind what you do as a Creator. It is such a unique opportunity and I really hope you take FULL advantage of these features.

This is an added benefit of shopping Student-Made during the holidays. I know that whenever I buy presents for Hanukkah, I like to support small or local businesses.

For example, I can buy a pottery bowl from Cadey Campbell at NC State for my mom (who loves Cadey’s stuff), and tell her all about Cadey and her business. It’s so cool to know who is making your gift.

If I see something great that’s just a little off from what my family may like, I can submit a custom order form and get EXACTLY what they’d like!

Or maybe I just have a vision of something that I want to see come to life. I know I have always wanted a plush hamentashen (Jewish cookie thing), but I cannot find it online!

No matter what you celebrate, I think we can all agree that the energy of the holiday season is just so contagious. I know as soon as I see some holiday lights, I want to get in PJs and watch a movie with hot chocolate.

Use this time to also talk to potential customers and tell those personal stories (actually in person!)

I hope you are all starting to create your holiday products. It wouldn’t be a holiday note from me without mentioning that along with Christmas, this is also a time for Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and other winter holidays. Remember to include everyone!
