PROGRAM HIGHLIGHT: MAKING SALES THROUGH THE ONLINE SHOP & POP-UPS

Welcome back Student-Made Community!!! I missed you all!! I hope everyone is settling back into school and excited for Student-Made. It feels like it has been forever since my last Abby’s Program Highlight. Since then, we have been hard at work making improvements on our program– and I want to make sure you are equipped to take advantage of them all.

I wanted to review the steps to complete upon receiving an order, because I have gotten a lot of questions so far this semester. Proper communication is super important throughout this process!

I would love to give a shoutout to Student-Made NC State because they are wonderful when it comes to getting orders out on time. Specifically– website manager and creator, Cadey Campbell & creator, Natalie Emerson. I ordered from both of them on the day of re-launch and my order arrived in exactly a week! Others reported the same turnaround time from them.

Pop-ups are another main sales channel that you have as a creator. They are so much fun! You get to bond with your fellow creators, meet customers, and really have that genuine interaction with people.

Student-Made JMU absolutely crushed it at their first pop-up of the semester. They managed to make a last-minute invite to a farmer’s market, and had almost $3,000 in sales!!! A lot of creators sold out of their inventory, which is the best possible issue to run into.

Our first community features of the semester are coming to you next Monday morning– Creator, Josh Meitz from Marquette and Finance & Strategy Manager, Chloe Borchers from App State.

Speaking of questions about order processing… this new monthly event will compliment these Program Highlight emails. I will be available on Google Meet to answer any and all questions you may have. Come and offer suggestions, voice your opinions, give feedback, or just say hi!

Okay well that’s all for today! I hope to see you all this Thursday during my Q&A, and keep a lookout for our message next week. I can’t wait to see you all thrive this semester!
